Project Spotlight: The Labyrinth at Trinity Episcopal Church
Location: Lenox
Project Background
EDM had the pleasure of providing landscape architecture services for the Trinity Episcopal Church located in Lenox, MA.
According to Rev. Michael Tuck, the Rector of Trinity Church and St. Helena's Chapel, "The inspiration for the labyrinth really came from our parishioners." he said. "They had just finished a program called 'Sacred Ground', and exploration of structures and systems of racial injustice and the legacy of that. The logo for 'Sacred Ground' is a labyrinth."
Using this inspiration, EDM's Director of Landscape Architecture, Rob Akroyd, designed the labyrinth. His vision was to create an oasis of tranquility for a space of reflection and rest. He designed a walkway with a stunning design that is surrounded with new plantings, red maple trees, and benches.
The labyrinth will be dedicated with an outdoor concert, blessing, and reception.
