edm has implemented a strategic partnership with Greylock Design Associates led by Robert Akroyd to expand the existing expertise of edm into the fields of landscape architecture and land planning.

02/09/2024 - As we enter the new year, edm is continuing its growth/evolution by expanding into new markets. Upon reflection of edm's origin, mission and values, edm has completed a strategic alliance with Greylock Design Associates, a 25 year old Landscape Architecture and Land Planning firm from Lenox, led by Robert Akroyd. This merge will expand and compliment the existing services offered by edm to include landscape architecture, site planning, permitting, and development consulting. This merger brings Robert Akroyd (Director of Landscape Architecture), Bob Weiss (Landscape Architect) and Joshua Kolator (Landscape Designer) to the edm team. 

Robert Akroyd is the founder and President of Greylock Design Associates. He has over 35 years of experience in the fields of Landscape Architecture, Land Planning, Project Management, Site Engineering, Permitting/Entitlement, and Horticulture. Rob obtained his Bachelors of Landscape Architecture & Regional Planning from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Since obtaining his degree, Rob has personally designed and managed multiple projects from concept through permitting to implementation. Projects include, but are not limited to, residential estates and master plans, design development of mixed used projects, enhancements of public courtyards and parks, and development of master plans, open space plans, and zoning regulations for various municipalities. Furthermore, Rob is CLARB Certified, which is a nationally recognized Landscape Architectural Certification board. In addition to this, he is an active member of various organizations including, American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), Boston Society of Landscape Architects (BSLA). He is currently licensed in Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York. Rob's extensive experience, credentials, and work ethic make him an exceptional Manager of Landscape Architecture at edm.

Bob Weiss is a very experienced landscape architect. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Landscape Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley. Since graduating college, he gained valuable experience in the Landscape Architecture realm. More specifically, Bob has experience in assisting in the development of projects from the conceptual phase through the final construction drawings. Furthermore, he has experience in overseeing and being responsible for several projects throughout the Hamptons and North Fork of Long Island as well as the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states. Bob's extensive work history and passion for design will make him a great asset to our landscape architecture team. 

Joshua Kolator is an experienced associate landscape architect. He obtained his Bachelors of Landscape Architecture from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry. Since obtaining his degree, he dove head first into the landscape architecture industry. More specifically, he gained extensive skills in landscape design, AutoCAD, sustainable design, garden, and land use permitting. Overall, Joshua will be a valuable asset to our landscape architecture team.
