edm conducted a study and designed a renovation and new extension for the Town of Monterey Library. The building was constructed in 1931, and has both historically and currently serves as a focal meeting place for the Town. The new library acts as a gathering place for the community, and features a 60% larger multipurpose room, a large reading deck overlooking the Konkapot River, quiet study spaces, and dedicated areas for children and teens.
Structural improvements include a new roof, a dry basement, insulation, energy-efficient mechanical systems and lighting, increased capacity, and updating/improving mostly hidden structural details.
