Engine Rotor Test Call
Windsor Locks, CT
Overview
This specialized project included mechanical, structural, and electrical engineering for a state of the art test cell for testing Boeing 787 engine rotors. The project included engineering & design of ballistic precast wall panels for containment in the event of rotor failure. The test cell was constructed in the middle of an occupied manufacturing space and was required to meet stringent acoustical requirements.
Electronics Development and Testing Laboratory
Windsor Locks, CT
Overview
This project included architectural, mechanical, HVAC, fire protection, electrical, and structural engineering design to move a high tech 40,000 SF state of the art electronics development and testing facility from a remote site to the main campus facility. Included in the design is a 10,000 SF environmentally controlled development space, a new chiller and HVAC system, a specialized high-pressure instrument air system, and the installation of EMI test rooms. The electrical design included the distribution of six variations of 60Hz and 400Hz power. The project also included the conversion of 94,000 SF of factory space to office space for the client’s engineering team.
